She has hosted TV and online shows in both Australia and in LA for the past 11 years for networks such as MTV, MSN.com, Fox, Disney, Nickelodeon, Myspace, Nine Network Australia, ABC, TV Guide and more. She currently hosts ‘The Girl Spot’ on Bitesizetv.com. Aside from hosting, Asha is also the creator and editor-in-chief of a daily millennial women’s media site called GirlTalkHQ.com. christyChristy Black is a partner and Assistant Head Coach at Nerdstrong Gym in North Hollywood where she helps create superheroes. She aspires to be She-Hulk, likes to run long distances at a slow pace, adventuring, crafting, comic books, campfires, and the beach.  She loves everything geeky and hopes to inspire girls like her to know they can be themselves and have fun working out at the same time!

amandaAmanda Brennan is an avid fighter for women’s rights, especially when it comes to sexuality and sexual assault. She has been a group leader for numerous rape support groups, primarily focusing on girls aged 12-18. She’s also a trained crisis interventionist and worked on a suicide hotline for four years.  She is the daughter of an addict, and was a victim of sexual abuse at a very young age.  She now strives to help women find their power again and reconnect to their true selves. In her free time, she volunteers, plays sports, and reads a lot of psychology studies. In her blog, she writes about overcoming the oppression of abuse, sexuality, and women’s rights issues.

katieKatie H. Willcox is the founder of Healthy is the new Skinny and Natural Model Management in Los Angles. Katie is passionate about female empowerment in our Western culture and around the world. angelAngel Zehnder is a Docketing Clerk at one of the most prestigious IP Patent and Trademark law firms in California. She aspires to influence plus size women to embrace the beauty within and not conform to today’s superficial views in society. She is an avid boxer and has recently fallen in love with indoor cycling. She loves her dog and enjoys spending time with her family. Angel believes that no matter what size you may be, you can do anything you set your mind to.  Everyday is a struggle but not everyday ends in failure. daniDani Elliott has spent the past 6 years touring more than 30 countries as a background vocalist for a bevy of artists across multiple musical genres. She’s lent her talents to synthpop band White Prism, hip-hop acts like MIA and The Roots, singer-songwriters like Amos Lee and Sheryl Crow, pop icon Miley Cyrus on her infamous Bangerz World Tour, and most recently, soul singer Allen Stone. And although, on paper, it may appear that Elliott is a dyed-in-the-wool sideman, the debut of her new, 5- song EP, The Best Part, marks a clear and defiant transition into the glow of her own spotlight. Dani will be keeping us posted on whats going on in the world of music for female artists.

ana rosaAna Rojas was born in Colombia, South America before moving to sunny South Florida at the age of 5. Florida was her home for 27 years before taking a big leap and moving to Texas with her two children and fiancé.  Before her move, Ana worked in corporate America as a Human Resource Director for a private child care company because children have always been her passion. She has an AA in Sociology and BS in Psychology. Now, Ana is finding a new path and enjoying the process along the way. She will be writing about motherhood and how to raise healthy happy children without losing yourself in the process.

alyssaAlyssa Lein Smith is a marketing major as well as a full time employee at Quincy Jones Productions. She is a strong advocate of positive body image and women empowerment while having spoken on such topics to audiences ranging from middle-aged students to over 400 top-level executives in the corporate world; she is also a coordinator for the annual Love Your Body Fashion Show in Los Angeles. Additionally, her research paper that proposes implementable practices for companies to increase thought diversity and innovation was chosen by former U.S. Ambassador for Global Women’s Issues, Melanne Verveer, along with a U.S. Bank, Womenetics and Delta Airlines panel for a national competition. Alyssa is currently writing a book for teens that addresses how to be successful in the stage of life they are in.

samSamantha J. Quintanar is the executive assistant for Healthy is the New Skinny. She is a writer, theater geek, rock ‘n’ roll wild child, and occasional pinup model. After struggling with body image for several years, she decided to begin her journey to self love and share her own experiences mixed with wit and sarcasm to help inspire those around her. As an advocate for body positivity, she hopes to change the way women view themselves as well as one another. Quintanar identifies as a strong Latina woman and hopes to empower the women of her community to rise up against unattainable beauty standards in today’s culture. She is currently working towards her M.A. in communications from Gonzaga University.

Laura Bizzey is a 19 year old from the UK. She has muscular dystrophy and is determined speak up and defy the stereotypes associated with people who have disabilities. Her passions include photography and music. For several years she has been speaking out about her life with muscular dystrophy and has been a blog contributor for Muscular Dystrophy UK’s Trailblazers Network. Her goal is to encourage others to embrace their bodies. She believes everyone, no matter what race, size, gender, or ability, can be healthy and feel fantastic about themselves.
